Welcome back! We promised some exciting news in our latest blog post and now we can finally share it: Flora United Farms is proud to announce it received both the GLOBAL G.A.P.-certificate as well as the GRASP-certificate for our farm in Portugal.
Since you are here, you probably already know that GAP stands for for Good Agricultural Practices and is currently the world's most widely implemented farm certification scheme. Most European customers for agricultural products demand evidence of GAP-certification as a prequesition for doing business.
But good agricultural practices just aren't enough. At Flora United Farms we feel very strong about the socials aspects of our business and the welfare of our workers. Therefore we also, naturally, applied for the GLOBALG.A.P. Risk Assessment on Social Practice-certificate or GRASP-certificate.

GRASP is a voluntary assessment that can be conducted at the same time as a GLOBALG.A.P. audit. Its main objective is to raise awareness on social practice in primary production. GRASP covers the main topics of the UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights and the International Labour Organization (ILO)’s core labor conventions.
